I don't know if it's true that they will ALL turn on you, but I do know that a lot of times we believe the people who we think are TRUE friends, turn out to not be as close as we would like to believe. It's pretty much like that song by Tracy Lawrence, "Find Out Who Your Friends Are". Once you end up being the person in need, people tend to make themselves scarce.

One word. Human!! you are right that they are all gonna fail us. People are human than means nobody is perfect. The moment you learn that, you will begin to lower your expectations. The reason we are so hurt and devastated when they fail us is because we expect too much from them.
One more thing I have learnt is that, we can't find all we need in ONE person or friend. One is good for shopping, another is a good confidante and other is great for vacation and so on. makes sense?

My question to you is, Why do you nonetheless stay acquaintances along with her if she has continually make it easier to down? unfortunately, people dont like to see other people suceed... they hate it when things 'go right' for other people... they hate seeing other people have what they want!... and the list goes on...
well... you have to ask yourself the question, if thats the sort of friends you have why do you still call them your friends?!...
a few people that i have regarded as friends i have let go, simply because they werent as willing to put into a friendship as much as i was... they would let me down quite badly at times... i would find myself doing things to please them, until in the end i gave up and now i do exactly what i want to do and when i want to do it... now that took me a long time to come to that mental decision... but i take no s*** now :) ... had enough of the emotional bullying that my 'friends' would put me through!
