Your President is elected by your Parliament & State Legislatures? Wow! No offense, but your President sounds like she represents the politicians, not the people. The people of India should choose their President, in my opinion, but since I'm not Indian, my opinion may not be best for you.

You know, your country could save money by combining the Prime Minister & President into one position. From what I've heard and read, the President is more

The president doesn't have much power in India. The PM is much more important. And the PM is chosen by members of parliament who are directly elected by the people.

You can elect your members of Parliament. That is the biggest power.

Do any of us really have any freedom now??????
even in America and UK freedom is only imaginary Someone and something rules us all. Rather than silly leaders let it be a divine entity. If good people summon the courage to stand up against evil leaders we can then sort things out. We wont have freedom until we earn it and to do that we must summon courage to get rid of evil. Then we truly will have freedom.
