My cat had kittens 4 days ago.. She was taking good care of them at first, but today she's acting weird. All night she keeps leaving them and just walking around the house for 1 or 2 hours at a time. When she does go in with them, in the large closet she had them in, she just kind of stands there and watches them. She has fed them once, but it was the only time I've seen her feed them in at least 5 or 6 hours, and it wasn't for long. She also has bad diarrhea, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it..? Now one of the kittens is panting constantly, and another one is doing it a little too. Should I just feed them, or wait? If so, what? Thanks.

You should force the mother (gently ) to sit down and put the babies on her breasts. If this fails, buy kitten milk formula at the pet store and a feeding bottle and feed the kittens. Don't forget to open a hole to the bottle's nipple.

There are numerous opportunities; a million the kittens have been born sickly, those won't make it so the mum instinctively kills them to insure the wholesome will stay to tell the tale (merciless yet neccessary to species survival) 2 the relax kitten(s) could be removed from the mum because of the fact of jealousy. those are 2 of many rationalization why she would be killing her kittens. it may be incredibly useful to get her 'fixed' on the earliest 2nd.

The panting kitten probably has dehydration - you will need to hand feed the little things

You need to go to your vet NOW and ask their advice - they can provide you with a feeding syringe or bottle and some Similac or other kitten feeding formula and some medication to treat mum cat's diarrhea. Please take them to see the vet the kittens will die otherwise.

pick up the mama and put her in with the babies, then hold by the scruff of her neck so that the kittens can eat, it is possible that the mother is ill and she doesn't wanna pass it to her kitties.
