yes, i do not have a problem with it. it's traditional. the GOD should stay in it. no need to re write it. we have not taken the in God we trust off of the money and no one objects to cash . lol

I know they do this in USA . If I was a foreign National I would be happy to promise to respect and obey the laws of USA whilst living in USA but would be most unhappy to swear allegiance to USA unless or until I decided to become a US citizen. Whilst I understand the reasons for such an oath the US must be aware that not everyone who lives in US owes any allegiance to it other then to respect its laws whilst resident. Many people intend to return to their native country sometimes after many tears. US citizens living out of US feel the same way. Not all of us thing US is God's own country. Do not take this as a knock at US it is not

I think if you dont like the Pledge of Alligence, you are in the wrong country.

I say yes, but take out "under God". It was added to the pledge after all in 1948 I believe... Public schools should be secular of course. And continue that into any new public object, money, buildings, etc.

I don't understand why you need it.
If you wish to do so then fine but I don't think it should be compulsory. If you don't wish to do it then you should be allowed to sit it out, which was not the case after 9/11.

It sounds like brainwashing to me but then I'm not American and in my country no one will become traitor without getting shot by paramilitaries (IRA)
