I have just noticed that the Finish tablet is left in the detergent compartment, at the end of the cycle & my dishes etc are not cleaned through throughly, food particles are still left in the machine & I have even tried putting it through again still the tablet is not disolved. I contacted the service engineers & they cannot come out to me for another week!!!! Does anyone know why this is happening

I too have a Bosch and I find that this happens for two reasons.
Firstly - is there anything obstructing the drawer from flicking open? I have a roasting tin which sometimes causes this to happen.
Secondly - when the machine needs a good clean I think something to do with the flow of water round the machine is slowed and this stops the mechanism that releases the tablet.
To clean the machine pull the handle on the drain on the inner floor of the machine towards you and lift the drain out.
Open the base of the drain and release all the gunge from it.
Give the drain and the waste-catcher a good scrub in hot soapy water.
Check in the cavity where the drain and waste-catcher fit and take out any bits that may be lurking (sorry - not pleaseant!).
Check the rotary washer blades for any blockages - food and gunge gets in there too! I use a large needle to help dislodge bits and pull them out!
Replace the drain and waste-catcher.
Buy a dishwasher cleaner from supermarket. These are little bottles of concentrate that clean the machine - they are really good! Just follow instructions on the bottle.
Make sure that you have salt in your machine. Although most tablets say they have salt in them I still get a better result with dishwasher salt as well.
Hopefully after all that your machine should be OK!

One of the issues with European dishwashers is that they don't interact with the garbage disposal, Instead they have a trap that is supposed to catch food particles but it has to constantly be cleaned in order for the machine to function properly. That certainly could have a lot to do with your problem. Try switching from a tablet to a liquid and make sure nothing is blocking the compartment lid.

Do you mean the closed compartment with the tablet in it is not opening for it to be dissolved? You can put the tablet on the bottom of the machine - it will work just as well.

Water not getting hot enough?? Try slinging the finish tablet into the centre of the machine! I rarely put mine in the tablet drawer anymore.

Sounds like a vapor lock. Your cleaning agent compartment isn't opening during the cycle. Have you checked the filter? Make sure you have water going through it. Also check your supply line, it may have a kink.

Try using a powder like Cascade and use a pre-wash. I just had the Maytag man look at mine and he said the gel packs that I was using were keeping the door from opening.

Have you tried cleaning the compartment? It probably comes apart, and maybe it needs a good wash.
