Im an American and now say i moved to mexico and lived and worked there would i have to pay taxes and if so would it be to the US gov or the Mexican gov?

You'd be liable for taxes in both countries. You may be eligible to claim the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion or alternatively you could claim a credit for the foreign income taxes paid against your US tax liability.

Get a copy of IRS Pub 54 from the IRS website. It will tell you pretty much everything that you need to know as a US citizen or resident living and working overseas.

Yes, you would pay tax to the Mexican government since you're living and working there. The citizenship is not an issue when you pay your tex. the main point in paying your tax is when you start to live and work in a country regardless of your nationality

It would be to the Mexican government if you're working in Mexico.
