any country can develop and join the league of the so called first world countries. if we look back a few hundred years the countries that are prosperous today were second class as compared to civilizations of that times. with time the countries that developed the available resources, brought accountability to the bureaucracy and the rulers and changed the mindset of politicians from aping the kings of yesterday to being subservient to the people of the land, prospered and are today's first world countries.
Philippines can also find that path if the president can ensure a clean government where in the authorities are dissuaded from amassing wealth for themselves and use the national resources for the good of the country ONLY.
a plan to develop the integral resources without copying anyone Else's model, developing a work culture that strives for national betterment at all times and instilling a feeling of pride in its citizens making them proud to have been born there would all go a long way in achieving the goal!!

It sounds like she must have a plan. But with only 20 years to do it, then something drastic must happen. As long as the president is trying her best, then she got my support.

If I was president, I would do it by improving education and the access to information. That would be my crucial and first priority. Since I know that the phrase: "Knowledge is power" is true to all.

To respond frankly and honestly to your questions:
No, I do not see that happening in 20 years. Corruption is the main hold back to the whole thing.
I would start with a show of force that would wake the people up to begin complying with the needs of the nation. Thus far, our politicians only stick to the old system which has gotten us into the miserable straits we face today.
I think she's greedy and vindictive and definitely not in a position to do a thing to stop corruption - which is now the worst in all of Asia.

Definitely No! As long as there are politicians like her still in power, it will take the Philippine government 1000 years or never.

Why not?
When she can correct the blunders and slip-ups with human errors created back in the past being expose with time after the mystery of us-911.
Need to trace the faults and steer the star-ship back on course.
Seemed to be a bit off course.
She can do it.

I think Dull John is not dull at all. His answer is best, and I implore you all to vote for him.
Make him President. I think he will go screaming and kickin' "NO!" when you drag him into the palace, and that's the kind of President we need, one who is not really interested, and can view things impartially.

As for what I think of Gloria, she did say she has "lots of it" when asked about her sex life, so I say she still has the juice. Or, in the vernacular: "May asim pa." A looker, I tell ya!

Anyone with a sound plan could do it. The problem is she will need the total compliance of her people.
