It's actually an urban myth that sunlight is lethal to us, no more than to any other race on Earth, however; just as there are nocturnal species of animals we're just nocturnal humans that's all.
We also don't go around biting diurnal humans (ie ... you lot), we have a network of donors who give their blood but we can eat other things too, it's just that we need the particular amino acids found in blood to synthesise protein.
We are more carnivorous than you which is why we have 'fangs'. I'm having my breakfast at the minute, you might have Wheatos or cornflakes. I'm having a bowl of Whiskas Dry. Jet thinks I have a cheek nicking his grub but there you go. It's meaty, it's tasty and if I mix it with salty water .. it's breakfast cereal.
