Sorry, I think JK Rowling said book 7 was a "definite end" for Harry. She said she will publish an "encyclopedia" though, so that might be what you are talking about. 2009... sounds good to me for the encyclopedia.

This is from Wikipedia:

She is not planning to write an eighth Harry Potter book, but has suggested she might publish an "encyclopedia" of the Harry Potter world consisting of all her unpublished material and notes.

When asked, in an interview on the 6 July 2007 episode of Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, whether she would ever write an eighth Harry Potter novel Rowling confirmed that she only ever planned to write seven books in the series but also that she could not rule it out entirely. "Um, I think that Harry's story comes to quite a clear end in Book Seven but I've always said that I wouldn't say "never". I can't say I'll never write another book about that world just because I think what do I know, in ten years time I might want to return to it but I think it's unlikely."

Rowling has already said in the interviews since the end of the book that "Deathly Hallows" is the last in the Harry Potter Series. However, before the book's release she said that she would not rule out more books in the Harry Potter universe, they just wouldn't be within the Harry Potter series. She could do a series on Albus Potter or someone else as the main character.

As I heard it, Rowling has said she hasn't ruled out the possibility of another book from that world, but she has no specific plans. In fact, the way she phrased it made me think that if she does write another book it won't center on Harry, Hermione, and Ron.

Until there is some specific word that Rowling is working on another book, I won't be expecting one. And I certainly wouldn't expect on in just two years.

I think she will write something else but probably as a prequel and maybe about the School itself or the how the Ministry came to be - she is a voracious writer and seems to love the publicity so in two years time? - seems good!

this is a very compelling debate to be basic with you. If she does kill Harry off, it could make the main in view that. Harry Potter could in all risk be the main suitable tragic hero of all time. and additionally endure in techniques, his complete life replaced into full of misery and coronary heart wreck. dying could desire to be the kinder destiny for him. incredibly if Ron, Hermonie, Ginny, and others die interior the final e book. in spite of the shown fact that, this is my opinion that Harry will stay. regardless of each and every thing the misery he has been by using, i think of Harry will finally step up and be the hero Dumbledore knew he could be. he will slay Voldermort, and grieve for the loses of Snape (who will shop his life by using sacrificing his), Percy Wesley, and in keeping with risk Hagrid. yet he will have Ginny Wesley to convenience him.
