firstly i know how you feel...as i speak i am sad that harry potter is over!
some books to read are:
* His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman
* The dollanganger series by Virginia Andrews (which starts with flowers in the attic)
*Dan brown books are very addictive
sorry nothing can really compare to harry potter but the first suggestion comes very close

Ehm. Right now I'm Reading Maximum Ride, Its a good book series from what I've Read so far. Its pretty much not really magic but more along the lines of Experimented Children running away but They been experimented with Avians(Birds) and they have wings but they are being hunted down. And Also Eragon Series is good I'm Waiting for Third Book To come Out. The First Book was more introduction and Second hand a bit more of twists and A lot of Action you'd probably enjoy.

T. A. Barron's Merlin series are pretty well-written.
I think there are 5 books to the series. =)
It's about the famous wizard Merlin, how he grew up and how he became a wizard. Lovely books, especially if you like the fantasy stuff =).
You can also try Christopher Paolini's Eragon series. There are currently two books out, and the first one is the basis for the recently released movie. Personally, I didn't like this series as much, but people I know who love Harry Potter--also found the whole dragon thing interesting.
Have fun reading!

The Forgotten REalms Trilogy would be great for you. The Inheritance trilogy would be a very good for you. You must also read His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pulman. The Lord of The Rings trilogy would be the best thing for you.
