Over the past two months this is the most common first and middle name combination I've seen...

Isabella is ALREADY in the top 5 most popular baby names in the U.S. Why keep recommending it? Why?!

It's not a stupid name... my name is Isabella... I'm way past the age of 7.

"Izzy, Iza. Bella, Belle, Rosie"
One of my uncles used to call me Izzy all the time. Usually I'm just called Bella though.

It shouldnt matter how common a name is. If you like it, use it!

It's a beautiful name. A classic, in fact. It's the kind of name that will be around for decades to come. It's not really a fad name. The popularity might be a bit of a fad, but aren't going to hear that name in 15 or 20 or 25 years and say, oh, yeah, you must have been born in 2007. It is a classic and beautiful name.

I have to agree. When I read the title of your post, I was getting ready to say that it was much too common. Honestly, I think the name is very pretty. But the parents who all are trying to be unique are going to find that when their kids are in school, there will be like 3 kids in each class with that name. Just like Jennifer and Jessica were in the 70's.

I like the name, but you have to consider that this IS a VERY popular and trendy name. It seems we know an Isabella in every class my son attends. Sophie, Madison and Abigail are a few others that are super popular. Guess if it depends if you prefer popular names. I think they are cure until they get way overused. I used to like the name Aiden too, but now that is another popular one.

I think it's because there are so many nicknames to be made of it. Izzy, Iza. Bella, Belle, Rosie....

I agree. I personally know 4 people who have named their daughter's Isabella within the past 2 years. Isabella is going to be the next Jennifer or Jane! Where is the originality here?

I like the name, but I have to agree with you--while I'm not a fan of the unusual "celebrity kid names", I hate when people give their children "trendy" names, too. My 6-year-old sister is Hannah Rose. To this day, I am angry that my father decided on that name. In all seriousness, he would have had a less common name with his other choice--Sarah Grace.
