I'm not guarded in the least, but I'm smart and that's the difference between putting yourself in a dangerous situation and making a human connection with someone.

i'm definitely guarded when i first meet someone
i become less guarded as the other person reveals more about him/herself. Its almost a 1:1 ratio with me.
Having said that there are a handful of people who really know me.

I usually have my guard up most of the time. It takes me awhile to truly let people in and get to know me personally.

some people wait for others to prove to them they're trustworthy. some people trust right away until there's a way their trust has been abused. i'm the 2nd. i'm an open book. in the past i was constantly getting rude awakenings because i wasn't selective AT ALL about who i spent my time with. now that i've grown up some and have more self respect, i try to only invite honest, loving, healthy people in my life. i haven't had a rude awakening in years. funny how that happens!

Depends on who and what I'm involved personally with, it pays for everyone to stay guarded as so many charlatans around ready to take you down in one way or another..sad but true..♥

I am a very guarded person. Not to many cross over to the "I know her" side.

I stay guarded around most people but there are a few girls that I'll just completely be myself around - and by myself i mean any emotion shows when I'm alone with one of them. They all think its sweet, and it is nice to be able to just let go... I'm only reserved around them when i am angryor when I'm trying to comfort them but don't feel up to it.
