Who thinks that D. Howard can tranform into a new Shaq in the future? Does he have all the Skills that the big diesel has/had???

I think he has some Shaq like qualities. He'll be a special player, but he'll be a bit different than Shaq.

I think offensively he and Shaq as young players are the same. Shaq was very limited offensively like Howard is now. They relied on their size and athleticism to get most of their points. Shaq obviously was a lot bigger and stronger, so he got a lot more easy baskets and scored more than Howard.

Defensively Shaq was better hands down. He was a top notch shot blocker and would get around 3 a game. Howard is a lot like Kevin Garnett in that he doesn't get a lot of blocks but he is solid in that he can change or alter a lot of shots.

As far as their physical stature goes I don't think we've seen anyone really close to matching Shaq in terms of pure size, strength, and athleticism. Maybe Wilt was more athletic, but we've never seen anyone has strong as Shaq. Dwight Howard is stronger than most big men in the league now, just not Shaq like strong. He's more like David Robinson than Shaq in terms of physical stature and strength.

Similar in power dunks only. He still doesn't have Shaq's post moves. I hate Shaq but there's a reason he got all those dunks. It's not just power. Shaq's footwork is excellent, especially his drop steps. Dwight's offensive game is still raw and relies only on athleticism. I predict Dwight will be reliable as a 20-25 point scorer, but never will be offensively as dominating as Shaq.

Apart from that Dwight's passing is very poor and he can be swarmed by opponents and turn the ball over. Granted Shaq's early days are like that too.

Dwight may end up as a better rebounder than Shaq though.

Dwight is no joke, but as good as Shaq? No way. He's not as good as Shaq athletically, but he's not as tough mentally either. Everyone remember Shaq tearing down rims in Phoenix and New Jersey? He even said in an interview that after Coleman dunked on him in New Jersey, he wanted to make a statement, so in the next game in New Jersey, he tore the whole rim and backboard down. Shaq is so strong, but in his prime, he was very quick and agile on his feet. And he fears no one.

But it's hard to compare someone like Shaq to Dwight. Shaq is one of the best players ever, remember he's one of the "fiftiest" best players ever. Dwight has a long way to go, but he'll never be Shaq or accomplish as much. Shaq is arguably the best center ever.

Dwight resonates KG more than Shaq. Look at how similar their built are. Their strength and athleticism. Plus the fact that KG is so great on rebounding the ball and manning the painted area, which Dwight is already doing. The one person that I think resonates Shaq is Amare Stoudomire (in terms of size and strength and the obvious speed). NOT to take anything from Dwight. He's an excellent player and will still be for years to come, he's still so young at 21 and have a long way to go and many play-off games before him.

Yes he does.

Height - that's all accounted for

Skill in the post -
He has the dinking ability down but in a few offseasons he needs to work on diversyfying his post moves.

Strength -
He's strong but not shaqlike yet

Free throws - yes i had to say it hes better than shaq at free throws.

Yes dwight howard can be the next shaq but don't count out al jefferson who puts up similar numbers na dplays less munuttes. He's a force in the post as well but instead of his post game he needs to work a little on dunking.

easily Shaq.nevertheless Dwight has wonderful ability nonetheless, not too a lot of people can get with Shaq, who might've been a plenty tighter participant if his recommendations replaced into on in simple terms basketball.

D. Howard is the newer, more improved version of Shaq. In my opinion he is alot better than Shaq, jus because Howard is versatile when on the court compard to Shaq. He has better defense n better offense than Shaq. If i had to call sum1 the "new Shaq" it would have to be Greg Oden.

I think he will be more like a young Alonzo Mourning, pre health problems. He has good power, just not like Shaq.
