Keep in mind, I don’t write nearly as many blogs as I would like to because I’m very to the point, very blunt and very straightforward. Also, because I’m an artist stuck in this **** hole we call hip hop, I try my best to be politically correct. But some things ladies and gentlemen, some things, just need to be spoken about. Young ****** nowadays seem to be able to say whatever it is they feel like saying, and if they say it enough, some idiots will actually dignify it and deem it as the truth. Just for the record, NONE OF YOU ARE THE BEST RAPPER ALIVE!!!!

For that matter, none of you are even top 10 alive. Where do people come up with these things? I have to think that the people who believe these ridiculous statements don’t have CD players or Ipods, and they’re just stuck listening to the radio. Are we hearing the same things? Nobody under 30 should be able to make that claim, not me, not Lil Wayne, not Fab, not Cass, not Papoose, not Sai, not T.I.P., not Jeezy, NONE OF US!

And don’t get it misconstrued, I love all of them and what they do, but certain **** just shouldn’t be tolerated. I get the whole thing about confidence and believing in yourself, but c’mon….I think people are confusing being hot with having a certain level of skill. That’s why you gotta love 50, he use to say without a care in the world “Nah, I’m not the greatest rapper, but I sell more records then them.” What could you possibly say in response to that? As badly as we wanted to, it was true. As long as Hov, Nas, Em, 3000, Face, Common, Black Thought, and a few folks I’m forgetting, are still around, just rap. Leave all the adlibs in the studio, trust me, its better that way. I made the brutal mistake of talking hip hop with my girl, who proceeded to tell me how she looooves Lil’ Wayne, which is cool, I love him to. So I asked her to name me two Wayne songs.

Just two.

*Cricket, cricket*

*Tumbleweeds*

Needless to say, she couldn’t, but I still ended up getting cursed out and sleeping on the couch (well, not really, but you get my point). Every convo I have about rap leads me right back to how dead the **** is. If you really wanna talk about it, the same people running around screamin’ this blasphemy idolize the rappers that actually have the right to be called the greatest! I’m so confused…

“Do you fools listen to music or do you just skim through it?”

It’s oh so much more meaningful today.

Im glad that he said it...Its true...Seems like nowadays rappers are just coming out with a single...if that single sells or plays a lot they feel like they are the s hit...Thats when u get all the "I -AM -NUMBER--- ONE" claims...Yea you number one for right now...but youre not the GREATEST...Its like what Brand Nubian said DONT LET IT GO TO YA HEAD...Stick around like Nas, Jay, Rakim, KRS and then say that...or LL even

I'd just like to make a comment concerning how people confuse looks with talent. I must confess that I really don't know very much about the artists you speak about, however I've lived long enough to know that people are easily deceived. With good marketing maybe even I could sell music in today's market. Just for the record, I don't really believe that to be true. I'm not putting any genre down because the most successful artists are like you say the "best looking". I'm just saying that unfortunately we live in a shallow world where to some looks matter more than talent.I know I am surprised at what some singers look like because I decide if I like an artist based on my ear not my eye.To me ,the radio gives you a way "to see " how talented an artist is because you don't have a visual to distract from the facts. Keep pursuing your interest in music and never become jaded by the real world.Believe in yourself and your talent.Success seldom comes to people overnight. Take care.

i agree wit it 400% but i feel like any rappers out there would be on some "can't tell me nothin" type of sh*t... 50 is one of very few rappers who sells, but is smart enough to admit he aint the best rapper alive... i think lil wayne is under the impression like, "aint nobody sellin like me, so i *MUST* be the best rapper alive"... thats whats wrong right now, they worried more about the numbers than the music... i could go on and on but imma leave it at that

THIS IS defenitley TRUE...who is this guy?? because when some of these young rappers(like the ones he named) look at the blog their going to see what we people are thinking about the comments they make...first off, yes some women do say they like lil wayne and never heard a lil wayne song before but has heard him say he's the best (my mom gets pissed when people say he is "the best" because she use to listen to true, real hip hop and she dosent think he's tight at all)but I like lil wayne and I know all his songs from when he was with the hotboys till now, and Im not going to say I dont like lil wayne just because he says he's the best im a female and I know this is not true, and Im not going to stop saying I like him because alot of guys dont like him and think they know lot about hip hop(just because I like lil wayne dosent mean I dont know anything about hip hop) lil wayne is just a rapper not an mc and I like him as a rapper...and you really have to be ignorant if you think females just listen to lil wayne, theres alot of guys who like him but are just B*TCHES and dont like to get negative criticism for liking him point blank...and im a female and I like the whole bad boy image so im going to be naturally attracted to him, alot of n*ggas just jealous of him because of the respect he gets from men and women(yes ALOT OF GUYS LIKE LIL WAYNE, AND THAT DOSENT MAKE THEM GAY) and for all yall who say that are ignorant

JOE BUDDEN is the one who wrote that, and he's absolutely right.......alot of ignorant hip hop listeners consider people "great" or "good" for their looks and how they present themselves instead of raw talent on the mic...it disgusts me
