Currently I know very little about astral travel, but I'm slowly learning more about it...for right now, right here on Y!A I just have a quick question....

Is it possible to meet and/or interact with other people on an astral plane?

And also, if anyone has any links to helpful information for someone who is just learning about astral projection, that'd be great.

~SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY, PLEASE~

Thank you. :-)

Ah, but you see I don't think I have met the person that I join in my astral state in real life. I never attempted to contact anyone, yet for over a year, I would have lucid dreams at night and feel as though I connected with a certain specific presence. So I just wondered if that's common (or even possible), or if it's simply my mind playing tricks on me....

And I have read quite extensively on the subject of Wicca. Scott Cunningham seems to make the most sense. :-)

Yes it is possible, I would suggest telling that person what you are going to attempt to do. Say a prayer asking that no harm come to your body and that you make a safe transition there and back. Check out some books. Sorry idk of any links. Sylvia Browne is knowledgeable on the subject. Also try something in witchcraft or just plan astral projection. Silver Raven Wolf is the author or a book called something like To Ride A Silver Broomstick.

When I was in my early 20s I used to have vivid dreams where I would leave my body. I believe now that they might have been sleep paralysis related.
I had met a couple of people in that state, just by coincidence. They seemed like very real people, although I never met them in real life, so I could not tell you if they were real people.
I do believe that there are elements that occure in lucid dreams and sleep paralysis which are just dream elements. However, I am suspicious that the mind might be able to see the spirit world during these times, and possibly some form of astral travel, because I have seen and known things that I could not have known otherwise. I don't think we can control it though.
Of course, this leave, no way to prove anything to anyone else, only to yourself.

The astral plane is reality. You can walk and sing and dance and talk to people. Theres a whole community of wonderfull creatures out there, but some nasty ones too. When you astral project, you are able to see all kinds of different entities - ghosts, angels, you name it. Each of us has our own guide that waits for us in the astral. It could take any form - animal or human. If it wants to talk to you, it will probably talk to you in a way you will understand; in the language you speak.

I really hope this helps! :)

there have been people that have taken astral journeys and can report what someone is wearing or doing, which they could not have done if they were dreaming. there is more to astral travel than dreaming. if you are lucid dreaming you are far ahead of most people, including most expert answerers here.

check out the monroe institute for more information, and happy traveling.

First you lay down to sleep. Within 10 to 15 minutes later you are falling of passing and very consciously through a grey demension. Then with in 20 seconds in this grey zone you find yourself suspended above your body. The curious thing is your mind is exactly the same but your body can go through matter. Lots of NDE people have experienced this.

It is quite common actually. I hook up with many people there in order to get work done...sometimes you can remember who you were with when you wake up...sometimes not.

The tricky part with that whole gig is that you can sometimes mistake people THERE for people here...or you might think that two separate beings are ONE being based upon your perception.

I am speaking from experience; I can *remember* certain events...such as feeling responsible for an individual and being greatly loved...because I hold my responsibilities in high regard, I assumed that only the one I held in high regard could be who loved me...I'm thinking I might be wrong about this.

There is no credible scientific evidence for astral projection being real, and there is every reason to think that it is not. The "astral projection" experience is completely compatible with the dream state. You have to take it on faith (like a religion) that you are actually doing "astral projection" since there is no reason to think that it is anything other than a dream.

Well, I used to be really into this years ago, used all of the techniques, etc.

However, I finally realized that it is just kind of a dream state, and there really is no astral plane, so no you are not really meeting and interacting with people there. It is just your imagination going wild. Trust me on this.

I have read reports that it is possible to meet others and interact with them, but I have not done it personally, found it on yahoo forums years ago.
the number one thing about it is, that your "intent" and will power counts for almost all of any technique you will learn.
just find some method that you like, and it should work best for you.
good luck,
sorry I have no web links.
