My barber used to charge $9 per cut, so I'd give him 10. Then after about a year he started charging $10, so I'd give him $11. Just recently he started charging $11 and I'm thinking of finding an alternative maybe. Hey I'm a college student so I need to try and cut costs here and there.

this is suitable to tip 20 %, and it may be rude to no longer tip till the haircut or service replaced into terrible. the quantity a stylist makes relies upon on no count number if or no longer they paintings for themselves or no count number if or no longer they are employed by using the salon. interior the 1st case, they are the two the owner or they lease their area from a salon and that they get all the money from the decrease. interior the 2nd case, the stylist is an worker of the salon and gets a income or hourly salary plus a value from their centers (could desire to be everywhere from 10 % up). In the two case, this is suitable to tip 20 % (or extra in case you experience like it). the way I see it, a hairstylist is serving you the whole time you're there and annoying approximately how your hair looks, so they actually deserve the top. no longer that a waiter would not, yet they do no longer provide the comparable style of non-public interest. you additionally can tip the guy who washes your hair ($5 or $10 is effective, no longer 20 %).

Yes! Please tip your stylist/barber! Your tip should be in accordance to the total of your bill. For a $15-$30 cut/color, I would tip at least $5.
The girl who does my hair, I tip her $15 and I pay $52 for a cut.
In response to your last comment, I think $2 is a good tip on a $10-15 cut. Especially if it only took the barber under 20 min.

Yes, I do. Usually I give them 3 to 5 bucks, depending on how much I like what they did.
I tipped the eyebrow waxing lady $3 the other day for a 10-dollar wax job because I really liked my brows.

I tip my stylist. The place she works charges $20 to wash, cut, dry my hair, so I tip her another $10 usually. If I feel like she's rushing or not doing a great job in any way, I lower it to $5.

It depends on how much they charge. If I think the haircut is fairly priced, $3-$5. If I think it is expensive $1-$2. Also, if they are able to get me in the day I call, sometimes I throw in an extra $1 or $2.

Yes, I do. I want to make sure she does a good job on my hair. It's hard for me to trust my hair to someone, so when i find someone good I tip them alot. Generally 20 to 25%. I wish my hairstylist only charged 12 bucks.

It depends. This one time the stylist f*cked up my hair so bad that I didn't leave her a tip. I usually give $5... I mean, cutting hair is a pain in the butt!
