I hate classes with none of my friends in them and Im totally open to making new ones, but everyone sorta knows eachother in my school so its hard to go up to people who judge you and on top of that im kinda shy. What can I say to someone so I have a friend in my class i can sit next to. last year i had no friends in LA and I think by the end of the year the teacher thought I was really really shy and everyone thought I was nerdy and no fun in that class. Eventhough im not that shy and i am really nice and a cool person. I just want some way to have a friend to sit next to

Look it is ok to be shy just do not come across as a bi**h. Some girls that are shy sometimes come across as that way, that is not good. You should get to the class as early as you can like 5 min or so. Then go in sit down and when someone comes in and sits down beside you say hello, ask their name and make small talk. like, what other classes are you taking and stuff like that. Be friendly, smile, and so on so they know you are nice. Then people will start to open up more and more to you.

I am in the almost the same situation except i am the only senior and i havnt even seen these people before i also sit in the corner and the class is large luckily its a study hall so i dont have to do much work. Everyone is always looking at me . The only thing that helps is my ipod GET ONE . I have no desire to be friends with any of these people but if you dont want to seem like a loner get to know them or just look like your really busy working

there's nothing wrong with being shy, I was in school also! I have a good sense of humour though, so if you can use that, that always helps.
But class should be about learning first right? there's always breaks and lunch to chat and ask your classmates about questions or projects etc.
joining different school groups helps and makes you feel more comfortable around people. Hope this helps...good luck!

Just be your sweet self. Don't worry. Try be friendly, talk, and LISTEN to everyone. But don't try too hard, and come off as fake. Be open to new friendships. Most of all, you are there to learn, not to make friends. But I do understand and wish you all the very best friendships that you deserve.

Just randomly ask someone for help on a question or project and slowly just start talking to them, you'll soon have a friend in a class.

Just try to talk to some new people... They'll either like you or they won't... most likely if you try talking to someone you'll come to see that they're not that bad after all... hey it's worth a shot.
