why should i show my working as in an exam???
(a) x² + 2x + 3 = 0
x= ( -2 +- sqrt( 4 -4(3)) )/2 so there are no solutions.

(j) x² - 12x + 36 = 0
x = ( 12 +- sqrt( 144 - 4 (36) ) )/2
= ( 12 +- 0)/2
= 6.
