its gonna be like an encyclopedia for all the thing she didn't put in the series or cut from it...plus more about what happen to everyone after the great battle of hogwarts, like more details about everyone, not just harry, ron, and hermione......

it's not 100% sure, but she's been hinting at it for a while. She's said she "probably" will in recent interviews - and that it would include those details that we wish we knew about what happened in those 19yrs, as well as other details.
I think it's great and I think she will do it because I don't think she's 100% done emotionally (judging from the hints she drops.) the biggest thing she keeps saying is that there are characters (especially Dean Thomas) who had much bigger backstories planned but they were eventually deemed unimportant to the main story. But it seems like she'd like to give those ideas somewhere to get read.
She's released some of this stuff already; it's all the little bits and pieces she slips in on her website. Some of it is under "edits" and characters and some of it comes up when you are hunting on her site and find those little hidden scraps you get to put in your notebook. (she has early scratch paper with plot outlines you can find and things of that nature.)
I had noticed she hadn't done one of those "edit" updates in a while and I was wondering if she was saving the info to publish, so I think it's really gonna happen. So excited!
BTW LOVE your screen name. I have been thinking about Prydain Chronicles lately as "Deathly Hallows" reminded me a lot of "The High King."

Its gonna be an encyclopedia not an actual book, its gonna have her notes, and the back stories and stuff like that, but she said that its not gonna be for awhile. But, what I hope for, is that it tells about James. and Lily's time in Hogwarts, and Harry and the gangs kids time at Hogwarts, that would be fun to read about.

i think of she could write yet another HP e book, yet on the comparable time, i do no longer think of she could. this is why: There desires to be conflict in a tale, some journey (thinking she writes fantasy journey), for the tale to be as solid because of the fact the previous ones. needless to say all and sundry LOVES the tale of Harry and Voldemort, yet which could no longer take place in yet another e book. it might in basic terms be... out of place if she wrote yet another one. I recommend, all the different seven books have been a great tale, and each e book replaced into linked via Voldemort. considering Voldemort can not be in yet another one, the recent e book does no longer be linked to something, in spite of having Harry's son in it. It in basic terms does no longer make experience to write down yet another one. That being pronounced, i'm the biggest Harry Potter fan interior the worldwide. Hahaha, i've got study all the books like a million circumstances, and watched all the flicks like 2 million circumstances. Haha, Harry Potter is astounding. (:

I heard she MIGHT. There is no real news on that, but I hate it when people call it the eighth Harry Potter book because it isn't the eighth Harry Potter book. It's the Harry Potter Encyclopedia.

I had heard that. It reminds me a little bit of Diana Gabaldon's 'Outlandish Companion', that she wrote as a complimentary encyclopedia for her 'Outlander' series of books.
I think it would be a great reference point for those who are re-reading the Potter stories..so many plot points, it would be nice to be able to look up who did what. I hope she does write this one.

I read somewhere that she was doing that... I think that's really cool, being able to get more history and details on the other characters that weren't the main ones.

She's talked about it. But its not #8, its an Encyclopedia. it's an interesting idea, but i think part of the fun is not knowing.
