Hi, I saw a spider today, and I do not know what it is. Can you help me? Here is a picture...

The spider was pretty big, about 3 inches.

ah that's creepy, i hate spiders,
anyways it looks like an Orb weaver (Argiope aurantia), but it could also be the writing spider(somes called a black and yellow garden spider) you should google it. they can be common in gardens. and it looks like it has 8 legs to me.
