I don't really pay attention to contacts or stars, etc.. I just try to pick the best answer to my question. I also don't ask questions that are opinion based if I already have a strong opinion about it. It's annoying when people do that and then just pick the answer closest to what they think.... it's truly an exercise in futility.

Most of the time people do not bother to read the actual question so I give the best answer to the person who actually reads my question and answers it. I'll give it to the person who provides the most information from a RELIABLE source. Giving it to your contacts or people who star your questions is pointless. Give it to someone reliable.

It depends on the question.
I try and award the best answer to the one that I believe had the most effort put into it, but also is not copy pasted.
I give a thumbs up to whomever makes me laugh, but generally not a best answer, and certainly not whoever stars/ is my contact.

With all of them, I read them and then thumbs up if I like them, then in my likely opinion I choose what best fits the situation. But on occasion I have been known to pick people on my list. Mostly because they were right. I like to consider each one first, it's only fair. PEACE

Depending on the question I've asked ,I go by that.
I can honestly say I vote for the best answer, that deserves it ,contact,fan or not.
People that know me on here know that.
