while the corporate media is drawing out a bridge that collapsed in Minnesota for days, they are not reporting what they should be. This is what the rest of the world is reporting about the USA, in case you are blind:
"Soldier gets 110 years for Iraq murders"
'Spielman, 22, guilty of gang rape and murder of 14 year old Iraqi girl and her family'
along with four others who were also found guilty, and face a death sentencew, they were triedand convicted by the US military for breaking down the door to an Iraqi family (while two soldiers sat outside to keep watch, drinking whiskey and playing cards, while Spielman, and the other privates, Steven Green and Parul Cortez and James Barker, shot the girl's parents and younger sister in cold blood, and then proceeded to gang rape and kill the girl, then pouring kerosne over her body and burning her to hide the evidence.
somehow a bridge doesn't seem all that important any more.
be afraid of blacks, browns, bridges and planes. BE AFRAID.

Mel,
I'm just telling you what your mainstream media is not reporting.
get filled if the truth is too much for you.
and you call these people heroes?

2007-08-05 17:44:21 · update #2

the rest of the world is reporting this story, except the USA...which finds it much easier to draw out this bridge collapse story....
just like when Clinton bombed the aspirin factory in Sudan the same day as Columbine.
It's all to distract you from what your country is doing overseas...to keep you stupid and uniformed.

type in any search engine, "spielman, iraq"...it got embarrasingly little coverage in the usa. educate yourselves people...cnn, fox, nbc are only going to tell you what they want you to know. nothing more.

rlp,
crap? i know americans are known for their empathy (big time sarcasm)...but how is gang raping a 14 year old girl, shooting her family in front of her,and then burning her alive crap?
the fact that you think the never-ending horrors being perpetuated in iraqi by your so-called 'heroes' is 'crap', just goes to show that you, are the one that is full of s***.
thank you.
this forum is over. and so is the USA

People dying is always important, but I agree the media is dwelling on it. The news should be asking what is being done to prevent our solders from harming innocents in Iraq, and why MN is skimping on infrastructure funding too.

Since I have a daughter living in MN who used that bridge daily and there are still people missing I think it is a relevant story.
The media does report on our troops... but LIKE YOU, seems to dwell on the bad - however minute that is.

I have blocked you because I support our troops and am praying for the poor people of MN in this time of profound sadness and I don't need to hear your crap.

It's important because it shows that we have spent so much time doing things for and in other countries that we have let things in our country go to hell. If you can't see that then I'm sorry.
The fact that we are spending billions upon billions doing things in and for other countries, but we won't spend that money improving our own country is important. How do you no see that?

I never heard that story about the troops was it on CNN ? Do you hate our troops or something 1% might be bad but over all our boys are good and decent boys shame on you .You are a real A S S HOLE and your no american so drop dead creep.

Of course it was important. I'm not saying those stories aren't, but this bridge was a loss of many human lifes. Care to switch places with a mourning family? Then you decide if its important.

The fact that our infrastructure is falling apart because of neglect and money going to Iraq rather than building our own country makes that fallen bridge newsworthy.

What does your rant on hating the troops have to do with the bridge?
