When I read the first part of the question I couldn't help but laugh....

My favorite thing is that they so willing show and give example after example that liberal ideals constantly fail.

Once not long ago, MARK MALLOCH BROWN, U.N. DEPUTY SECRETARY GENERAL,under Kofi Anan, a British guy, said that the people in the American heartland were too stupid to understand world affairs and left it up to Rush Limbaugh.

The following day, the Mayor of New York had to call the police to do crowd control at Gracie Mansion, the mayor's residence. He was besieged by real estate developers that already had plans to turn the UN building into water front condos.

Trust me folks, regardless of how much the UN activity brings the city of NY in revenue, New Yorkers would help the UN pack and wave a fond farewell at the pier.

Edit FOR CATTLE DOG:

Businessman Pleads Guilty In Bribery Case Involving U.N.
DISPLAYING ABSTRACT - A businessman pleaded guilty Thursday to providing cash and a significantly discounted luxury Manhattan condominium to a ranking United Nations procurement official, in a successful effort to win more than $50 million in contracts, federal prosecutors said. The businessman, Nishan Kohli, 30, pleaded guilty in Manhattan federal court.

With the United Nations already under fire for the Oil-for-Food mega-scandal and other corruption, sensational allegations of rampant sexual exploitation and rape of young girls and women by the U.N.'s so-called "peacekeepers" and civilian staffers in the Congo is dragging the global body's reputation to an all-time low.

The United Nations fired the director of its highly regarded elections services office on accusations of sexual harassment and abuse of authority

Could you supply sources... and not blogs but actual stats and United Nations' statutes and charters.

I see a lot of stuff on yahoo that is very anti-UN but absolutely no one supports their allegations against the UN with actual facts and supporting sources. I really don't believe that people like you actually really know a lot about the UN.

BTW, I am not pro-UN. I just want facts instead of taking your word on the statements that you are making.

And NO blogs... they aren't real sources.

My favorite thing about the U.N. is the Coffee in the lounge, it’s the only useful thing they provide.

I like the fact that the UN gives people like you something to rail about, posting a rant that has no verifiable facts just pure your personal parnoid delusion. Good job on the tin foil hat.

When I was a kid collecting stamps, they printed some cool ones. Since then, their historic impotence has contributed to their current irrelevance.

How about none of the above. I believe we should abolish the UN and kick them out of New York. It is nothing but a corrupt body of corrupt politicians with corrupt values and actions.

The fact that they played a major role in averting nuclear war during the Cuban Missile Crisis by providing a forum to air our problems to the world, and I am here alive today because of it.
