Do you have any decorations in your tank that have sharp edges? If so he might have hurt himself on it

Your fish most likely has a condition called pop-eye. You'll want to go to the pet store tomorrow and get medication for it. An employee should be able to direct you to the different medications and pop-eye should be listed as a treated condition on the medicine you buy.

Be careful to read through all the instructions first. Some require that the carbon filter be removed from the tank first and others need various amounts of water change over time after the medication is given.

Popped IN? Now that is unusual.

It's not pop-eye. That's when the eye starts to bug out. I'm guessing that it might have run into something in the tank and bruised it's eye. Watch it for infection, but otherwise, it's nothing to worry about.

Add some non-iodized (plain or Kosher) salt to the tank. The usual dosage is one tablespoon per five gallons of water, but I tend to be conservative and use less. If this is pop-eye or just an injury, salt will help speed up healing and will also kill diseases in the water.
