It's been about a month now and I've been wracking my brains trying to figure out what is wrong that I cannot connect to the internet as soon as 6pm hits. I've tried tricking the computer an changing the time but that doesn't work. I've tried taking off the firewall and putting it back on and still doesn't work. I've tried about a million other things including system restore to three months ago when I knew the internet definitely worked at any time but no success with that either. Does anybody have any clues or solutions as to what's going on with my cuckoo computer?

Thanks Michael M. I have sypbot and I always clean out my temporary internet files especially of recently. And I just downloaded AVG and ran it. I guess it seems like the consensus is to call my ISP... blah

There are alot of possibilities:

1) Router or firewall has time sensitive access. (Unlikely)
2) This is considered peak time for most internet service providers. This can imply that there is congestion and you need to contact your ISP to fix this issue.

As a way to troubleshoot, try the following:

1) Ask your neighbor to see if they are having the same problem. If it is a network congestion issue, your neighbors would have the same issue.

2) Take your computer to someone else's house. This will rule out your physical internet connection.

3) To rule out your router, connect your computer directly to the modem. Take the switch or router out of the setup.

While your internet is down, call your ISP and tell them what's happening. Before you contact them, delete all the temporary internet files on your computer. Make sure you have updated virus production (AVG is free) and spyware removal software. (Spybot is free) If you don't do those things they won't help you.

Seems to me that during that time a lot of people go online and thats why the network goes down. Contact your Internet Service Provider to do something in that matter.

if your computer is connected to a router you need to go on-line to the router settings and remove the time blocks or simple just reset it's default values, if you don't know how to do this call tech support for your router and ask them to help you out it's free, if this is happening at work there's no much you can do about it, your network administrator set this values and he is the only one who can change it. good luck

Is it connected through a router? There are times limits that can be set within the router setup.
