Can I use my xbox 360 controller with a Play-and-Charge usb kit to work on my windows XP computer?

Im not sure if I need to buy a 360 controller with the PC-compatible on it, or if I can use my regular 360 controller with the usb add-on to use as a computer gamepad. Is there software out there to download so I can use my 360 controller?

you can use a regular 360 controller that is wired with a computer but you have to install the software first

if its a wireless controller then you need Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360wirelessgamingreceiver/

the usb add-on for the wireless controller only charges the batteries
