General welfare is the things you listed. It usually consists of food stamps and govt. checks each month. Some people also get their daycare paid for. You must qualify for each separate assistance though. Medical is another one.

Fraginal pretty much summed it up. Just trying to add on a little.

It's for poor people who need money to live. But there's always like 10 kids in each of those families and one part time job wont support them so if they dont get money they die. If that happens then we get lower life expectency and then our countries government looks bad so they fix it by giving others money. The government probably doesn't even care about the people exept for the tax payers, they just want money so instead of making billions they make trillions from tourism and immigrants because a lot of people want to live "The American Dream".

Taxpayer funded handouts to the lazy class to keep them quiet. There are literally hundreds of programs involved. Don't forget medicaid. Free medical care for the lazy class. Commodities is another. Generation after generation of leeches living off the sweat of working people who are trying to feed their own families and then get stuck supporting these human baby factories.

Welfare is financial assistance paid by taxpayers to people who are unable to support themselves. Some welfare is general, while is are specific and can only be invoked under certain circumstances, such as a scholarship. Welfare payments can be made to individuals or to companies or entities--these latter payments are often considered corporate welfare.
