You need algebra to do geometry. If you had a problem in algebra, I would not try advanced geometry. Yes, geometry is different than algebra, but you will still need algenra to do it.

If you had trouble with freshman algebra, you should probably stick with ordinary geometry for this coming semester. Don't get in the class hoping to change your schedule later if you have problems . . . joining a class late is a big hassle and you may not know what's going on if you manage to change your schedule. And if you don't get to change your schedule, well, you may end up with bad marks. Good night!

i took geometry last year in 8th grade(advanced placement kind of class, we learned the same thing that the somphmores learned) and all it really is, is some algebra, and you have to memorize rules(annoying!!!) theres some math and subtracting invovled but its not that much different from algebra in my point of view. it like algebra except you use the equations to solve for sides of a damn triangle. you should start getting into the formulas and postulates now so you have a head start, just look it up in the internet, stuff like the SSS postulate or the SAS postulate (S=side A= angle) just stuff like that. if you want to challenge yourself go for the higher class but if you want to take it slower then get the regular one.

All different fields of Math, geometry and algebra incluided, are easy for some and difficult for others. So changing classes is not going to make anything easier. You will be switching from one difficult subject to another, or from one easy subject to another, no difference!

dood, im in the same exact situation. I think I'm just gonna go with accelerated geo and if i suck ill try to switch out. take a chance, plus most people are either good at algebra or geometry. since we stink at alg, maybe we'll be good at geo? CLASS OF 2010 BABBBBBBBBY!
