Hey everyone my real name is Jessica but allllllllll my friends call me Jessie. I'm going into 8th grade and i think jessie sounds too "little kiddish" ya know? But i'm so used to it that when people call me Jessica it sounds so weird! haha. I really want people to start calling me that either this year or in highschool but the problem is, is that everyone forgets and no one calls me it! How do I let everyone know i wanna be called jessica....and do you guys agree with me that Jessie sounds little kiddish or do you think i should keep it?

LMAO...Sorry but I went through the exact same thing. My name is Michelle but all through school my friends called me Shelly. Its natural at first to feel funny because your growing up! Start by introducing yourself to people as Jessica....and soon it will grow on ya! Let your best buds keep calling ya jessie...its cute and it will mean more if just your close friends have that little nick name for ya!
PS...you will never out grow jessie.....When I run into old friends from school...they always say....Hey..Shelly....and I have to laugh at how funny that sounds now!

I had two friends who decided to go by their middle names when they went into college. The first one, the name stuck pretty much right away, and the other one didn't. Heck, I still call the second one by her original name.
You'll have a harder time than they had, since you're still going to be around the same people. It's kind of either hit or miss. One thing that I've noticed is that slight changes or changes with the same number of syllables or fewer are easier than making a new, longer new.
I perfer full names myself, but Jessie seems more a term of endearment than a different name.

Jessie is just a nickname for jessica! nothing childish about it! there are grown women with that name!! I have a friend name jessica and call her jessie, she's older then you and in her 20's and she doesnt' mind it when people call her jessie, she answers to both names!!!! you are just being young and silly!!! Calling you Jessica doesn't make you look Older !!!

my real name is jessie and everyone calls me that or jess. nobody has ever called me jessica except my boss once before he knew better. but i love my name so i dont think its childish at all. who would want to sound more grown up anyway?

if ur real name is Jessica then u ppl that move in to the 8th grade with u will know that and ur freinds will still call u Jessie thats cool cause then they know that there tight with u oh btw I don'tthink its childish my best friend I call princess sounds like I'm talkin to a lttle child but she loves it cause its the exact opsite of her

i love the name jessie! but if you feel it's to kidish, jess is more grown up, but not as much of a change as jessica.
