I'm about to enter my Sophomore year in high school. Should I talk to my counselor now or wait till my junior year? I do want to check if I am on the right track for college. I live in Miami, and I want to go to UM or FIU if that influences anything.

Any time you have questions about college.

If you want to make sure you're on the right track...then now is a good time. What will you do at the end of your junior year if you find out you are on the wrong track? You won't have time to make changes or fix things.

Good luck.

Really as soon as possible is best - but most colleges will start actively recruiting at around the end of your Junior year.

It would be a good idea to check with your counselor now though just to make sure that you are on the right track - it can't hurt anyway :-)

Good job planning ahead! and Good luck.

Sophomore year. By junior year you should have narrowed down your school choices and major. Take advantage of college days if your school offers that option.
