For many,. including me, it is more difficult to let go than hold on. Certainly it requires strength to do either - but it requires wisdom to choose appropriately. And that requires a strength all of its own, which is acquired only in the search that never ends. Eventually we must let go of everything, with life itself - and knowing that makes it easier to let go of impediments, or even treasures, along the way. While we live, and move on, something else always comes along - not necessarily a replacement, but at least something new and different. So, apart from the courage to persist, we learn more from letting go than from holding on. And yet, and yet - if one's cause is just, in the interest of the Earth and other living things, one owes it to all one's fellows, through all of time, to hold on, through storm and tempest - and sometimes even to death.

Sometimes letting go makes one stronger, other times holding on builds more strength.
Learning to let go of the old (divorce, relationship, etc) and embrace the new, makes one stronger. Sometimes that personal decision will have a lasting impact on others close to them. The decision (to leave a relationship) isn't just about you anymore, it's about everyone around you, your circle. Letting go of a "bad" relationship isn't easy, the way you handle it will show your true strength.
On the other hand, the person held on to the "bad" relationship, what kind of person would they become? Suppressed? A caged bird? If you're not happy on the inside, you can't be happy on the outside.
Holding on and letting go are both necessities of life, growing as a person. Figuring out which one to choose and when, is a decision only you can make. The strength you derive from it, will define the person you are. The path you choose will guide you to your next goal. Good luck.

This is how I see it. When I held on, I was weak. When I finally let go, I was stronger and am still getting stronger every day. That is how it is for me. I can't answer for everybody.

Your blog was very interesting and makes me think about things a little differently. Thank you for sharing.

Making either of these choices could stem from weakness or strength. Are you letting go because things just got too hard for you, or are you letting go because it was the best thing to do, even though you didn't want to? Are you holding on out of neediness or are you persisting through the struggle in order to see the outcome you've worked hard for?

He who let go, but held on to his own essence with everything he had. If you don't let go, then you can't hold on.
How do I know this? My best friend lost her youngest sister, and both her parents within about a 5 year period. The remaining sister betrayed her. Since then she has been going through years of "letting go" of the grief - crying it all out. It has been an amazing process of rebuilding and holding on.

Depends on the situation. But in general, you have a goal which you have even a minimum slight chance to achieve? Then you are stronger if you hold on. There is something ABSOLUTELY beyond your control that you cannot change? Then probably you are stronger if you let go.

He, who Held-On, is Physically Stronger.
He, who Let-Go, is Stronger Spiritually, because he knew that Everything would be All-Right.

It does not matter what we think, since after all, we all have different opinions. The real answer is what you think. A guy who knew the relationship wouldn't work, and doesn't want to suffer anymore so he lets go hope and her. Or is it a guy who understood that in the beginning they fell in love with each other and knows somewhere inside they still do, so he holds on and clings to hope and her?

It depends on the situation, sometimes when the one you Love, does not Love you as you do to him/her, it is best to let go, because if you Hold on to that person, it was not meant to be so, they will leave you after a while. so, the one who let go is the Stronger one.

i guess the person who is stronger is the one who LETS GO...its like dreaming something youre entire life and when you finally got it you just need to let go because it came the wrong place and the wrong time...and for me letting go is a sacrifice that the one we let go would never understand, for them its a cowardness but the truth is were too strong to let go of our happiness than see them miserable with us...
