Are you all mad!? This is Barry Bonds we're talking about. Besides maybe John Rocker, he's the most loathed player of the past two decades. Why bother asking the general public what they think of him? Ask the players. The players absolutely hate his guts. It's the Barry show, 24/7. He's a jerk to the media, and he's a jerk to the fans. He doesn't hustle to 1st base. He doesn't go out of his way to be a positive influence on the game. He's pretty useless, in fact. He compares himself to the likes of Hank Aaron, but he is nothing like him. I'll never, EVER forget his comment after he passed Ruth on the career homerun list. He said, "Ruth is in the past!" Add that to the fact that he certainly took performance enhancing drugs. Yes, a lot of other guys took them, but that doesn't make it right. We can't catch most of the guys who used them because there isn't definitive testing. If they were discovered, however, their careers would be tainted. Bonds is no exception. The bottom line is that he just is not a good person, and nobody in their right mind can root for him. Before the steroid use, he at least had my respect. Now, he's a leech on the game and the fans. After he old-mans his way to his record, I hope he goes away for good.

I support Barry for all of his accomplishments. Let's face it Barry may not like various fans that taunt him but who can. Barry also wants to come back to get 3,000 hits which would be remarkable. To give you an idea of the type of fan I am, I liked Barry ever since he was a Pirate and support him all the way. I know a good baseball player when I see one

I am on the east coast, and I definitely DO NOT hate Barry Bonds. In fact, I have really enjoyed watching him bomb away at this home run record. Sure, Barry can be a little rough around the edges, but he is a human first, and he is going out and doing his job. And, not to mention, everyone hates him because of steroids and what not, Barry has never once failed a drug test (or any other substance test for that matter). I'd say that I support him. Seems like everyone hates him. I am glad he is overcoming and taking care of business.

Its not like Barry Bonds was actually proven to do steroids. I respect him all the way. He's about to pass Hank Aaron and he is one of the greatest ball players of all time. Everyday people talk about barry bonds in a negative way, thats probably why he's a jerk every once in a while.

I'm from oakland. Hate the Giants and barry. But his homerun chase is legit. And because I believe it is legit I support his chase towards making history. other then dodger fans, oakland a's fans like myself genuinly hate barry and san fran. But a record this big is worth supporting. 756 and counting

You got that right. It's never-ending, man. Don't waste your time. Dummies are born everyday, and then those dummies have children and the cycle continues. That's why we have so many dummies today.

And frankly the word "cheating" is taken out of it's true meaning when people use it. Cheating entails breaking rules. Back in the day greenies and red juice weren't even against the rules, just like at the time current players were supposedly taking steroids, et cetera, they weren't against the rules. Now they are against the rules and people who get caught breaking these rules are "cheaters"! There is no doubt in my mind that Barry took something, whether steroids or HGH. I believe it was just HGH though. But that's besides the point. The man can make contact with the ball and works hard. He had a an extra early batting session to get his swing back and to break out of his slump. He is also a hard worker. Its not like he took steroids, and became and fat. He continued to improve and get better, and here is evidence. Also, I don't think he has tainted the game because the game was tainted long before he was even born. Looking for new things to enhance god-given ability and hard work has always been a goal of all athletes, whether it be GNC or Bay Area Laboratory Co-Operative or whatever the equivalent was 50-100 years ago!

But like I said trying to explain that to people who have pure hate in their blood is a waste of time. Logic doesn't enter their mind because they are not rational people.
But to answer the question, I think 75% because, even DODGER FANS were booing when he was walked, and cheering when he got a hit.

There are people that support him everywhere, but it seems that they are in the minority.

Honestly, its the best thing that could happen for him. He is making lots of money and like they say THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS BAD PUBLICITY. When people love you or hate you that equals lots of money. Its when people DON'T CARE when you are hurting!

Lets be honest, pro sports is a business. The name of the game is selling tickets! Controversy makes cash!

I supported him. u can't believe everything the brainwashing media says. I can speak for myself & don't need anyone speaking for me & saying that nobody supported him outside San Fran. I can do that well by myself.
