Hi, there.
My suggestion? Start with freshwater. It sounds like you're just starting out, and freshwater tanks are easier for beginners.
You can go to sites like the ones below to learn about keeping a healthy tank, and kinds of fish that will work well together.
And yes, the larger the tank, the easier it is to keep, believe it or not. Larger tanks, because they have more water in them, are more forgiving of beginner mistakes. Just don't overstock! Take your time and do it properly - start out with a very light fish load and build when you've learned how to keep a stable tank.

Yes, both salt and freshwater fish are really easy because the temperature, ph, ammoni, nitrite and nitrate are stable.
But the only thing about the big tanks is the fish that your gonna choose. Simple fish like cory, tetras, molly, gourami are easy but some fish requires bigger tanks like oscars and goby.
So bigger is usually better in this case.
Hope this helps

Its easy if you have all the filters and rock and all the other stuff you need, in my opinion is very expensive rather than other thing, I have a saltwater tank besides the tank and pumps and all the regular stuff a fishtank need you also need special things like a skimmer that depending on your fishtank size is the skimmer size you need and it can go up to a 1000 USD with that you wont really worry about the nitrate or amonia levels, if you are willing to spend all that money then it should be easy-... good luck

as for salt water, and i would assume fresh also, the larger the tank the less partial water changes you have to do. the more water the more diluted the toxins are. i currently have a 55g and a 16g saltwater and the 55 is a lot easier to take care of.

maintenance is easier as bigger the tank is.
small tanks need much more attention and moreoften cleanining up the fishes sh*ts out.
temperature control also needs less attention in big tanks.
feeding fishes is more or less the same, i think

yep. in a large enough fresh water tank with many plants and good filters you don't have to change water at all.
