You denounce God...you stay alive. You don't... a "dead on arrival" report in the hospital.

Thing is...in your heart, you know you love and honor and is faithful to God. But you have a family to feed. And telling that man that "I denounce Him" would be simply lying to yourself right?

Your faith is still in tact in your heart but the practicality of the situation simply needs a lie like "Ya sure, dude, I don't believe in God".

Would that count as officially denouncing God, or is it simply lying to yourself and to the man pointing the shotgun to your eye.

In the situation, you have 10 kids 6 cats & dogs and a sickly wife waiting at home. So...dying would leave them in a life of single motherhood and cleaning septic tanks to support their daily allowances and maybe 2 or 3 of your daughters will get early preganancy due to lack of guidance from you.

It's bedtime. I thought I told you before, "No Kool-Aid after dinner!" Now, go brush your teeth, put on your jammies and if you're real good you can watch a Barney movie until you fall asleep!

To me, it would be denouncing God. To some people, maybe not, but to me, it would be telling God that I love everything else more than Him. I would have to trust that He'd honor my sacrifice and take care of my family. If that were my husband, I would be so ashamed of him if he denounced God, and he'd be ashamed of me if I did. So I'd go ahead and tell the big guy that I believed in God.

Paleadora-how can you say that when thousands were martyred for the cause of Christianity and it still goes on in foreign countries to this day. And not only parents but also their children were killed.

Who do you love and owe most to-the One Who created you and died for you on Calvary so you could live eternity with our Lord, or for family who never did those things for you-if you choose them-you are telling God you love others (and self) more than Him.

Is it so important that you live for maybe 80 or more years on earth, refusing to die for Him, than to die and, as a born again child of God, live for eternity with Him? Life is full of choices-don't make dumb ones. Make a statement-for God!

Is this a trick question? I would never denounce my belief in God. If God put me in such a position, I'd assume he'd take care of my family.

The time is coming when men *will* be faced with this life-or-death choice... perhaps not this exact scenario, but a "renouce God or die" choice.

It'd be an honor to die for my faith.

I would not denounce God. God would either save me, or if He choose for me to be shot, I'd go to Heaven. Think of the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abendego--(I know I made mincemeat of spelling that ) but you know what I mean the Fiery Furnace story!

I'm sure I would denounce / renounce god, but not entirely out of fear: I have had many issues with my faith over the years, one of the main issues being my belief that god doesn't deserve our faith & love. I haven't yet seen or read or been shown anything to entirely counter or refute this.

: )

theres a song about this

The question asked in order
To save her life or take it
The answer no to avoid death
The answer yes would make it
Make it

Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And Cassie pulled the trigger

All heads are bowed in silence
To remember her last sentence
She answered him knowing what would happen
Her last words still hanging in the air
In the air

Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And cassie pulled the trigger

How many will die
I will die
I, I will say yes

Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And Cassie pulled the trigger

(Do you believe)
Do you believe in God (Do you believe)
Do you believe in God (Do you believe)
Do you believe in God
And I will pull the trigger

Well if a guy did put a shotgun to your head for a ridiculous reason like that he is going to shoot you no matter what you say, so I will take the path that leads me to heaven and tell him to have a Blessed Day

i don't think it's official just b/c you say it but lying is a sin regardless. it shows a lack of faith to denounce God just to save your life it shows that you don't trust that He would protect you under thoes circumstances or that He would provide for and comfort your family afterwards. also, you might just affect the gunman by standing by your faith.
