I heard a theory not too long ago that humans are slowly losing their pinky finger. I'm just curious to know if anyone has heard anything scientific on this subject; links would be appreciated.

No i dont see how that is possible. Genetic mutations are extremely rare if that and if someone did have one, then it would not be beneficial so the people with pinkies wouldnt die out. That how evolution works. If lets say not having pinkies let a person survive better, youd have the people with pinkies dying out and over time there would be more and more people without pinkies because they are the ones surviving and breeding to pass it on. Seeing as how not having a pinky does not give a person a better chance at living it just doesnt make sense

I just broke my pinky recently. You would be surprised at the things it is near impossible to do without it.

no and the babies who are being born every day have nice regular pinky fingers so I doubt they are in danger of instinction
