Well I am an atheist & I don't believe in luck either.
But the mayas predicted their rise and destruction also they knew about the 7 continents just by looking at the skies also many said that they predited the European Conquistadores arriving many years before.
Anyways if it happens it happens I am ready for anything this world has to offer.

No... the world isn't going to just end.
There may in fact be total disruption with anything electronic. We can already see mother nature getting more and more destructive. This plays a huge role with our planets and planet X. Planet X was discovered in 1982 and has the gravitational pole as big as the Sun! It is approaching our galaxy soon and will orbit right through our solar system. This planet only comes into our orbit every 3,500 to 4,000 years. It's come before without the extinction of humans. It can happen again.
In fact...
What the whole ideas about behind 2012 is that we are entering a new age. This new age is called the age of Aquarius or the age of information is another way to call it. We are leaving the age of Pisces (Jesus symbol anyone?) and entering into Aquarius. We are entering into a new cycle astrologically and evolving into a higher state of consciousness spiritually. On this day, Dec. 21, 2012 at 11:11 a.m., all of our planets including the Sun and the Milky Way will be in total alignment with each other. This only happens about every 26,000 years!
Also...
Since the big bang, consciousness has been evolving more and more rapidly. From 2000 to 2012, we are in-between worlds as some people like to call it. In other words, we are in the initiation process for the dawning of a higher consciousness.
Think of it like a pyramid. There are 9 blocks or conscious levels as you approach the top. At the bottom left of the pyramid you have the big bang. As we progressed (evolved), evolution through consciousness kept speeding up. We developed new ways of understanding things in our journey through survival so that we can get to where we are about to go.
Well...
We are 1 block away from the top of that pyramid. Ever notice how things just keep getting faster and faster? Almost too hard for you to even keep up? Remember all that hogwash about the world ending in 2000? What that actually meant was Y2K started the 12 year process of a new understanding. It's happened many times before up the Pyramid and now it's happening again.
More and more people are now beginning to experience telepathy. Hmmm... well, how much further can we possibly go with communication? We already have cell phones and computers. People are going to want to communicate faster. All signs (so far) point to telepathy. Also, why do you think more and more people all over the world are looking for new ways of understanding themselves? Spirituality is flooding over this world like a Tsunami and things are just getting started!
The Mayan calendar ends in 2012 because what we've all been waiting for in human existence has been US all along.

I Have No Idea But My Spanish Teacher Said The Same Thing So This Will Be An Interesting Next Couple Of Years

It is intriguing that the Mayans' sophisticated calendar system was able to predict the passages of comets on specific dates, and modern science has yet to decipher many of its intricacies.

That it ends on that year is troubling, as it would suggest a catastrophic event involving the Heavens (comets/asteroids/etc).

Still, there is no point in living any differently; kinda like the Y2K thing, if it happens you're dead and if it doesn't life goes on. Might as well make the most of your life regardless.

Yeah, well the world was supposed to end in 1984 and 2000 and we're still here. The Mayans predicted lots of other things correctly so who knows?

Yeah, I believe it, unfortunately.

There's just too many things happening in that year to be a coincidence.

1. Planet X (Nibiru) makes another close pass to Earth
2. NASA says solar storms will be at an all-time high
3. The Milky Way lines up perfectly at the galactic center, which only happens once every 25,920 years
4. The Mayan calendar ends on December 21, 2012
5. December 21 is the beginning of the winter solstice
6. Several other notable prophets foresaw 2012 as an end date
7. Prophet "Mother Shipp" saw the "dragon's tail flying by Earth in 2012 for the 6th time" to be the end of the Earth. When planet X passes us in 2012, guess what number that will be? 6.

It sucks that it has to happen in our lifetime, but there's not much we can do about it. If we're dead, we're dead.

A lot of ancient cultures talk about 2012, not just the Mayans. The Hopi and the Egyptians are a couple.
