Hello,
I am going to iran for 2 weeks to see my family. I'm not worried about getting blown up but being stuck there. I have a US passport and Iranian passport. Im kinda scared that the US will make my passport invalid for going to an enemys country. Also Im scared that Iran won't let me in there country since Im from the US.
My question is:
Do you think I will be okay for my trip to Iran?

all my family ( uncles , my grand parents , cousins ) live in US , they come here and visit iran every couple of years , they have both iranian and US passport , and they dont have a problem , so dont worry "IF YOU DONT HAVE ANY POLITICAL CHARGES IN IRAN BEFORE YOU LEFT IRAN"
if they ask you where do you live , you dont have to lie , they dont need your american passport , when you want to leave iran , the airline need to see your US passport or your third country ( mostly germany or france or UK ) visa if you are a non US citizen , but you are a US citizen , so your ok , you can contact me if you need more help , i will be happy to help you more
good luck and have a nice trip to your country

My first recommendation would be to get your family to meet you some where else where you feel safe. I don't know if Iran will let them leave the country or not - something people should realize about this country before they start defending it. Considering that Iran has taken prisoner several American's (like 3 to 5 I believe) and accused them of subverting the government and threatening them with death sentences - I WOULD NOT GO - I would especially not take a US Passport into Iran but take your Iranian passport if you do go.

The last Iranians to travel to Iran were arrested as spies.
Tread lightly.

I honestly don't know. But if you go and make it back, post and tell us what it was like getting into Iran and getting back in to the US!

Wow that is a tough question. You will probably be OK if you aren't too outspoken politically. My advise is to check with the US state dept. Keep a low profile, and conform to the party line while your there. If you don't want to become a pawn in some international dispute.

If you don't mind being charged as a spy by Iran for the propaganda, no problem.

I wouldn't risk it if I were you, I hear they are overly paranoid about American/Iranian passport holders.
