Because the new Iraqi government that stands for peace, order, and democracy is not strong enough yet to keep forces like Al-Quida and the Taliban from taking over and causing a mass genocide of other factions of Islam. It's like if all the Roman Catholics decided that they were going to slaughter all the people in America who weren't Catholic, then extend their efforts to the world.
So until the Iraqi government can stand on it's own, we are there to keep forces like Al-Quida and Taliban from training and breeding whole nations of terrorists (This is how Afghanistan became after the Russian occupation, then they couldn't afford to stay and set up a reasonable government- leaving it open to survival and submission to the fittest)

useful photos, in basic terms is going to tutor how out of touch liberals are with the militia. it incredibly is obvious via your hyperlinks the place you're getting all your suggestions. Retired military, been to Iraq thrice. conflict isn't a surprisingly element, yet what your Lefty propaganda internet site would not permit you already know is the finished tale. Regardless, human beings such as you rather stay in a fairy tail worldwide and are unable to assimilating information from distinctive source or infantrymen that have rather served there...

We are still in Iraq for the same reasons we've always been in Iraq: OIL and WAR PROFITEERING.
From the very first day George W. Bush stepped foot in the Oval Office, he was determined to 'settle the score' the Bush family had against Saddam Hussein. Dick Cheney was just as determined to steal all that OIL swimming underneath Iraq's sands.
And the giant U.S. military-industrial complex needed a new 'war' to boost sagging profits at companies like McDonnell-Douglass, Lockheed-Martin and Sikorsky. PLUS, there were two 'newcomers' to the government's war trough: the Carlyle Group and Halliburton, both of whom have direct ties to the Bush-Cheney White House.
We will not leave Iraq until we've sucked every drop of OIL from that nation's sands. That's why we're building the largest U.S. embassy in the world on a 104-acre site in downtown Baghdad, overlooking the 'new' puppet Iraqi government installed by the Bush administration. That's also why Halliburton is building fourteen (yes - 14!) new permanent U.S. military bases in Iraq.
We are there for decades, if not generations. All so a handful of already-obscenely wealthy elitists and industrial can get even richer, at any cost - even the cost of 675,000 Iraqi lives and 3,668 U.S. soldiers. -RKO- 08/04/07

Because invading Iraq is like getting stuck in flypaper, the more you try to do, the more stuck you get. The US is going to be there for a loooong time.
Good to be Canadian. Good luck

And just what do you think will happen if we just up and left? Do you really believe Iraq will become some sort of Shangri-la? We're in Iraq because we can't leave. The region is unstable and will destabilize even further if we left. Why aren't any of you seeing that?

We need to help the Iraqi government retain power of its new country. Contrary to what press reports say, we ARE making improvements in that country. Besides, if we left now, it would only become a haven for Al-Qaida and groups like it. They'd welcome our departure so they can take over and start training more terrorists.

There are many reaosn. i will give you one. Other people here may give you others.
There is a war with terrorists who seek destruction of everything America stands for. It is easy for them to get to Iraq to do mischef there. When and if America leaves, those mischef makers will not go home to celebrate their victory over America.
No, they will make their way over here to
* blow up bridges over the Mississipi
* drive speedboats loaded with explosives into the places where oild tankers unload
* set off WMD in many major cities
* have sniper activity all over the place
* make our lives a merry hell
Do you welcome that?

Because to withdraw now would be a serious humiliation for the American government and nobody would believe their threats in future.
