Well, I had tripets (two boys and one girl) three weeks ago and right now they are all in one room. In a few weeks we're going to move our girl (Tallon) into her own room and let the boy's (Merrick and Chandler) share.
I thought it would be really cool to do a really "girly" theme. So my mom made a purple "comforter" (I can't remember what it's called....I'm a little brain dead :) thing for her crib and we have pink sheets but I wanted to paint the walls light pink with clouds and little jets going in between clocks (real clocks) with the times (the actual times) from some of the major fashion capitols of the world with the city's name by them. And for pictures, I have some swatches and patterns and other sewing things framed.
The boy's room is panted like under-water themed....the walls are blue and then there's sand colored with seaweed and shells and things at the bottom and there's fish....the ceiling has like the bottom of a boat and then more blue with lighter blue to make it look like the sun is shining on it. And some of the fish and things come off the wall (they are velcrow-ed on).

So a fashion/design themed room and an under-water room? Yay or neigh?

I have raised two children, a boy and a girl. My son is 29. I have been around a lot of people who designed their own children's rooms. But let me tell you that your idea is one that you should patent or whatever! That is the most creative and interesting idea (or ideas) I have ever heard! If I were a child growing up in a room like that, I wouldn't ever want to leave my room because it would be the best and neatest place to be! Kudos to you and your wonderful creative mind! I"m extremely impressed! YES! YES! YES!

You may want to re-think separating your daughter from her brothers this soon. They only know being together as a three-some and she may likely find being alone to be very disturbing. I think a room decorated in non-specific gender decor and keeping all 3 in the same room will probably make their lives (and yours) more calm and comforting. When they are much older then moving your daughter to her own room with an appropriate girly theme may be something special for her, but don't be surprised if she prefers a sleeping bag on the floor of her brothers' bedroom floor. Children who are born in multiples often like to stay together, especially at night. ADDED: While I do not have multiples of my own, I have provided child care for 2 sets of twins. Both sets were same gender and only slept well if they were in the same crib until they were about 4 months old. After that, they preferred their cribs right next to each other and I often found them sleeping with their little hands through the crib slats touching each other (so sweet!). A couple at our church have triplets who are also 2 boys and 1 girl. They are now 6 years old and while she has her own room, their parents still often find her in the boys' room in the morning sleeping on the floor. If there is a Mother's of Multiples group or something similar in your area it is good to belong to a support group. Parenting multiples comes with a unique set of challenges and talking with parents who have been through it can be helpful.

Why would anyone feel the need to tell you they don't like your daughter's name when you aren't even asking about names?? How incredibly mean! Does it seem OK because they can't see you? I mean honestly, people!
Anyway, I think your children's rooms sound really cute. I saw on some website (I'm not sure which one) a chair shaped like a high heel shoe, it was stuffed and so cute! That might look good in your little girls room! Congratulations on your triplets! You'll be busy, but you'll have fun, too!

I love the idea!! I think it's one of the best I've ever heard of for a girls room. That's the type of idea that you won't have to re-do in a few years when they outgrow the "nursery theme". The boys room sounds wonderful too!! You have a great imagination...good luck and have fun decorating!
