I just bought a Lexmark X3470 printer, and it says on the screen that the cartridge is missing. I've taken the tape off the cartridge and quadruple-checked that I put the cartridge in the right way. Please help!!!

take the printer back to the shop and exchange it... there is a fault with the printer if you have read the instruction and done all the right things ,,,

Shut down your printer when you put the cartridge in.If it is on while your doing this the computer doesn't see it.Restart your printer after everything is in place-this should correct the problem.My lexmark always tells me it can't communicate with my printer if I do anything maintenance wise while it is on. You can also try disconecting the power cord and the USB cable reconecting them and then turning it on.
