filipinos are food lovers. and the way to their stomach is to tickle their passion for familiar food. that is why filipino spaghetti is sweet and has hotdogs unlike the spaghetti an italian friend cooked for me where the pasta is not overdone and the sauce was cooked in beer.
pizzas with pinoy twist is adjusting to the filipino palate. and i welcome that. i eat whatever is familiar to my taste.

i think what makes a pizza good is the basics done well and according to the customer's wishes. when restaurants start putting really unusual food items with overpowering smells and flavors i am concerned. classic foods as tasty as pizza should be prepared with quality ingredients and the perfect ratio of sauce, cheese that when put together with a great crust is true perfection.
start putting sun-dried dandelions and smoked earthworms on a pizza makes me wonder what is really going on in the kitchen. although i believe in personal opinion, taste and originality when the food industry has a new trend this unique that they are testing people to see how far they will go to be apart of a select society. clothing manufacturers do the same thing. you ever asked yourself why you bought something that was unflattering on you but everyone was wearing it? bingo
one other thought for you to ponder - have you ever noticed in restaurants that are known for their unique cuisine and sophistication the waitstaff have a tendency to be snooty if you are not ordering with delight the oddity de jur or perhaps your meat cooked more than rare?
we should all be ourselves, free to discover new foods from desire and comfortable eating what we enjoy without concern that it is not popular anymore. i mean come on - its just food.
have a wonderful day!

I do not care for the pizza in the Phils for the most part, as the sauce they use is sweet, but I did have a very good one in Baguio...don't remember the name of the place.

Love it. The pizza at Gourmet's Cafe in Tagaytay has Filipino ingredients, including "itlog na pula".

I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to pizza. I love it so much.
I also don't eat meat so I don't think I'd try one that had meat on it.
