this was supposed 2 be a joyous celebration fo baseball and barry. But why did it seem like media talked more about the negitive than possitive? If he did take steroids, why allow him 2 be in the running to break the record? just get it over with. Untill then give the man his props! what do you think?

You got that right. It's never-ending, man. Don't waste your time. Dummies are born everyday, and then those dummies have children and the cycle continues. That's why we have so many dummies today.

And frankly the word "cheating" is taken out of it's true meaning when people use it. Cheating entails breaking rules. Back in the day greenies and red juice weren't even against the rules, just like at the time current players were supposedly taking steroids, et cetera, they weren't against the rules. Now they are against the rules and people who get caught breaking these rules are "cheaters"! There is no doubt in my mind that Barry took something, whether steroids or HGH. I believe it was just HGH though. But that's besides the point. The man can make contact with the ball and works hard. He had a an extra early batting session to get his swing back and to break out of his slump. He is also a hard worker. Its not like he took steroids, and became and fat. He continued to improve and get better, and here is evidence. Also, I don't think he has tainted the game because the game was tainted long before he was even born. Looking for new things to enhance god-given ability and hard work has always been a goal of all athletes, whether it be GNC or Bay Area Laboratory Co-Operative or whatever the equivalent was 50-100 years ago!

But like I said trying to explain that to people who have pure hate in their blood is a waste of time. Logic doesn't enter their mind because they are not rational people.

i think that since he did steroids there is no use to give him props. if you look at his stats from before 2000, it could be seen that he would in no way possible have broken the record. The only person that probably would've done it would be ken griffey Jr. if he wasn't hurt so much. But yeah, bonds does not deserve props. He was allowed to still be in the running because at the time when everything surfaced there was nothing in the rule book banning steroids...no one expected them to be used when the rules were first written...because well there wasn't any. Bonds is an arrogant jerk and a cheater. and that is all he will ever be.

i've got been a Giants fan through fact the 70's and understand that considering it is the twenty first century, the party would be plenty greater for the recent HR checklist. i've got watched Henry Aaron bypass up Babe Ruth in HR's, witnessed Rickey Henderson bypass Lou Brock in stolen bases and additionally am going to witness Barry Bonds bypass up Henry Aaron very quickly. there'll be the persons hating the recent checklist holder handy while it does take place, yet they are in simple terms jealous of Barry and needed they might have the abilities to hit over seven hundred HR's, steroids or not.

IT has never been proven that Barry Bonds took performance enhancing drugs. So I'm happy that he tied Hank Aaron's home run record. With that and along with his steals and batting average and all the runs batted in Barry Bonds is the greatest baseball player ever.

I threw up when I heard he tied the record. This guy deserves no props. Nothing but a self centered cheater with no respect for the game and its morals.

No matter what he still tied the record even if he used steroids i think thats good enough. No one can prove he used steroids so why was everyone so negative about it?

Three things are certain: Death, taxes and Bonds becoming the homerun king.
According to Meatloaf - "Two out of three ain't bad"
According to some - all three are bad. Some things you just can't help. Amen, brother!

americans seem to not like records being broken. do they crave a sense of history that much that they have given such a prominent role to an asterisk? People, things change. records go, people are superceded. it doen't have to mean they are forgotten. you have the hall of fame to remember your heroes of yesterday, you don't need retired jerseys and asterisks.
