if its stuck open the car will take forever to start/run in the winter and you'd have little heat in the cab. If stuck closed, your truck WILL overheat. I recomend jsut replacing it since its fairly cheap and easy to change.

The heater works only as well as the temperature of the coolant that is circulating through it. If the thermostat sticks closed, you get great heat it there is no restriction in the hoses.
The thermostat controls when coolant goes to the radiator.
If yours is sticking, replace it. It is much cheaper then an engine or heads.

Thermostats are normally pretty cheap and easy to replace. My dad did have a Jeep once that he had to have the shop use some type of vacuum to suck the thermo out because it got stuck.....Anyways, if a thermostat is stuck closed, it can cause your vehicle to overheat and a little while of running

is open it will run cold longer and hot sooner or later.... they need therostat to cool off the motor and if it close it will over heat in like 20 minutes either way its a easy fix and should be done and its cheap less than 20 and only need a couple tools and thats better than a tow or a motor

The longer it takes to open, the hotter the coolent gets. So more heat, not less.

It will not heat up your cab as quickly but then will be hot when it does. So you will freeze for a longer time. Get a new thermostat.

if the tstat is not opening you will not have a flow of coolant so yes it could cause you to have poor heat but whenit opens you should get good heat. but a sticking tstat should be replaced , once replaced you should be just fine,
