Derek & Alex have been friends for awhile now..I remember seeing pic in magazines and online of them together & smiling. So if they are good freinds like it looks..i'm sure Derek is happy for him. He might be envious but I'm sure he's still happy for him!

Jeter looked pretty happy when Arod crossed the plate after the 500th HR. And he looks pretty happy when Arod does anything else to help the team. All this Arod/Jeter love hate speculation is ridiculous. Are they playing well together? Because that's all that counts. Jeter is the best all around ballplayer on that team. He owns New York. He has nothing to be envious about. They are not the close friends they once were. That's because of stupid remarks Arod made about Jeter. Arod didnt think Jeter was a team leader. I think he realizes now that he was wrong.

People grow away from eachother. Arod got married, has a kid, is living a different life than Jeter. It happens all the time. These are two monster ballplayers. Egos clash. But to imply that Jeter is envious or wasnt happy for the HR is just silly, and quite frankly, kind of immature. The media loves to play that game. It's only detrimental to the team to have fans making comments like this. Because NOBODY knows what Jeter is thinking. Pitting teammates against eachother in the media is irresponsible journalism.

I know you are too young to remember this, but that's what they did to Mantle and Maris. The fact is, they were best of friends. And what the media did to Maris bordered on being criminal. What the media did to Arod when he was having a tough time was as well. And now, all this Jeter stuff is almost as bad.

I dont know if all your questions are lame. But this one is.

i saw jeter say "dammit" like he was frustrated that a-rod got a fly out, from the short slump in the past few days.
And he was really happy taht a-rod homered 500.

so im pretty sure he isnt envious and they should be friends.

No, but he will be happy when A-Rod goes to Red Sox at the end of the year and he gets all the attention focused back on him.

sorry, what record breaking season is Arod actually having and what gives you an indication he is happy.
He earns $25 mil a year, that's what he is happy about and if someone paid him $27 mil a year, he would leave.
