How does having to get a warrant within 30 days after the wire-tap interfere with the fight against terrorism?

This is terrorism...It would seem any common imbecile would be able to conclude that these thugs in this administration are eroding our values, erasing our convictions, and increasing their choke hold on all Americans. You tell me how anyone can be so dense to not see this when it slaps them in the face. Hell, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to put this into a plot and play. This is as obvious as day and night. JUST LOOK AT IT!

The wiretaps are specific to certain lines. The problem is that any particular call to any particular place may go through any one system at any time, depending on traffic.

A call from Osama in Pakistan might go through Chicago, Illinois to get to Saudi Arabia.

The wait means none of those communications is able to be tapped. There isn't time.
