For those who think matter came first.

how could matter make itself?

how could matter mutter to its self?

If matter came first who could know it?

I think many have over eaten matter.

I don't want to be a Taoism missionary in R&S, yet I thought about your question overnight and I got (pretty good) Taoistic answer for the concept of your question.

One is the number representing the great beginner, Heaven, which is exactly same concept with God.
One becomes two, three, four.... and so on, until it becomes Ten, which is the number representing the completion of a circle, which is same as One (! One and Ten is same!!) After Ten, new cycle of one~ ten begins again.

By the way, the beauty of Eastern philosophy is, if there's big concept like this One & Ten or Five Elements, you can just put anything into it and it will generate meaning for you... how convinient...

So, One is the great awareness,
Two is all matters created by the awareness,
and the One and Two improvise to reach...
Ten, human enlightenment, creation actively discovered the great awareness of the creator! Hooray!!

One is great, but Ten is more fun~ ^.^

Well considering that it is a scientific belief that the earth was here first before living entities existed we have to lean towards the logical fact that matter has been around before awareness, but then again if you belief in God then the belief that he created the world in all it's glory then his awareness came before the matter itself, on the other hand if you can belief that the first living entities had awareness of their surroundings then their awareness was the first of it's kind then awareness gave birth to the fact that we are aware therefore matter had no meaning before we or they more appropriately gave it to him, so in that case awareness came first.

Hi,
No matter how long I ponder, I cannot give a definite answer. Matter is the first thing that springs to my mind but from whose awareness? How did matter come into existence. How could 'something' be from 'nothing'. The question of where matter came from will I think always remain a mystery as much as the question, if God created us, who created God?

The existence of matter does not necessitate awareness. The actions of the laws of physics proceed as mathematical probabilities rather than acts of volition. If there is a God, he preceded all matter, and had full awareness, so in that scenario awareness would precede matter. In a Godless universe, matter would long precede the development of awareness in intelligent beings.

Both because matter is always around as awareness. Matter ia anything that occupies space and that could be perceived by mind. Consciousness or awareness of a thing or matter is in the sbliminal mind. Therefore it is always there the matter and awareness.

There is no means to determine that... However it is far more likely that matter, if at all real, came first. Awareness requires a significant amount of complexity making it far less likely!!!

Note: if you are religious the answer would be awareness as all deities are aware and supposedly come first in that belief structure!

Awareness is the Source and substance. That is, physicality arises within Awareness as the actualization of the potential to be 'aware of' something.

Awareness, therefore is all that really 'exists'. All else is an illusion formed within Awareness. From the 'perspective' of Awareness, it did not come into existence, since time is part of the illusion arising within it. There is only the eternal moment of Now.

Matter, even if you are "religious", whatever Deity you believe had to take up space, so matter had to come first. Or you can look at it and say matter and awareness came to exist at the same time because God is timeless.

Its been a long time that i have seen you wise one

Okay with the order of science when you breakdown matter it will reform in to more cells of matter of matter from the action of duplication you will find Awareness and reason. of the growing of the duplications think of a worm if you cut it in too two it will become two worms and if you cut it in three it will become 3 worms this is the same concept of the breakdown of matter to it's duplications to it's awareness

also you must see, feel or hear it in order to be aware of it so matter come first
