Looks like it's getting tight.
I just may have to retract my previous statements about the yankees not making the play-offs. And as much as that pains me to admit it, I do have to face the music.
Do you think cleveland, Seattle, or NY takes the wild card?

Dont worry, The Tigers should be able to win the Division.

Oh! And we cant forget The Twins....they could very well take the wild card too!

I'm going with the Indians as the Central winner and the Tigers as the Wild Card. Most people will say the Yankees because they are the most popular(and hated)team. The Indians offense is too good to be down much longer and the Tigers are bound to pull it together. Seattle will just miss the playoffs.

Now that I think about it saying the Mariners don't have experience is wrong too. Sexson was on the Indians of the 90's Beltre was on the Dodgers in 04. Batista was on the D-backs in the world series and I could go on and on but I won't. So that "fact" is wrong too.

Whoever says the Indians have no experience has clearly forgotten 04 and 05. Who was in contention until Septemer in 04? Who missed out on the wild card by one game in 05? The answer in the Indians. They don't have a lot of playoff experience, although they did sign Nixon, Dellucci, Borowski and a few other players just for that reason. The Indians have playoff run experience.

The Twins will make it interesting but pulling off a 2nd half like they had last year is almost impossible.

East-Red Sox
Central-Indians
West-Angels
WC-Tigers

I may be biased, as I am a Yankee fan, but I think the Yankees will win the wild card. Cleveland and Seattle are very good teams, but they are not as good as the Yankees who are putting it all together.

The Yankees pitching wasn't so great this weekend, but it is certainly better than it was earlier in the season. The main reason is that the Yankees sent down Igawa, who was awful, and replaced him with Hughes, who will be great now that he got his first start out of the way.

There is one main reason I think the Yankees will win the wild card; Alex Rodriguez. He slumped for over a week, and the Yankees still pounded everybody. When he's hot, he can carry they for weeks. I think now that he got the 500th out of the way, he's going to go on one of his tears where he has 10 homers and 25 RBIs in 12 games, or something like that. Also, Jeter hasn't exactly been on fire, so he's due as well. The Yankees face much better pitching soon, but they have so many great hitters, that I don't see them going on an extended losing streak again.

I think that when Detroit gets Zumaya back, it's all over. I never thought one setup guy could make such a huge difference, but it really does. Cleveland is good, but the just don't scare me.

Don't fear yet. The Yankees have been beating up on the bush league teams like the Devil Rays (8 in last 2 weeks) and Royals (6 in last 2 weeks). It is something that they have to do and they have done it well. But now they have to face tougher competition. They have 3 against the Blue Jays, 3 against the Indians, 7 against the Tigers, 3 against the Angels and 3 against the Red Sox before they play the Devil Rays at the end of the month. If on Labor Day we are still talking about the Yankees and the wild card, then we'll know they are for real. Their pitching situation will either show itself to be stronger than the critics have said or it will be exactly as their critics have said.

I think even though the recent slump of the tigers (2-10 the past twelve games), they should be able at least to make the wild card. As we hear Mario and Rod (for those who don't know, the Detroit Tigers broadcasters) as long with some ESPN analysts say, the Tigers have the best offense in baseball.

The tigers have, with some changes, have the same pitchers as last year. So I think if we can find out what's wrong with our pitching and fix it, the tigers can once again win the AL Pennant and maybe, even win the World Series.

But first things first, get out of this horrible slump.

I think these next few months will be some great baseball. Lots of the teams are getting close. If Seattle to take wild card I won't hear the end of it since my boyfriend is a Sea fan. lol. But I want Detriot to win the WS though! There's several diserving players on that team for a ring! Also for us Detriot fans that would be something very special.

As a Twins fan, the wild card is too tight. I hope we don't have to worry about that.
Who would have expected us only 4.5 back with the pitching issues we've had this year. The Twins are making a charge (again) and should take the division (again). As for the wild card. I hope it comes out of the central too.

Yankees will win the WC if they dont win the division.

Tigers are on the way out. Cleveland looks good for the division.

The Mariners are playing over their heads and will fold.

i wouldn't be so sure about the tigers winning the division with the way they've been playing and as much as i hate to admit it the yankees are probably going to win the wild card

Yankees. Bats can't be stopped right now, I don't care who they're playing.

The Tigers will win that divsion, cause they've made the playoff run be4.

The Indians and Mariners have no experience, so they'll falter.

Twins, r done.
