It seems with our checks and balances system, nothing gets done, and particularly, the will of the people is squashed. And corruption is rampant.

So many pressing issues, and none are delt with. Whether it be Iraq, illegal immigration, the economy, or whatever, nothing is done. None of the politicians will do anything, they are lazy and corrupt, and frankly useless. It seems like whoever goes into Washington turns into a stupid bureaucrat. Are you guys tired of this? How does our government get back on track? Will it always be like this?

Disagreeing with the government is very American. But we need to adopt the European concept of having many parties.
As long as becoming a politician means cowtowing to the existing party structure, there will be no real competition or choice.

I am particularly distraught being deprived of channels that would allow ea. citizen to be heard. Don't tell me I'm suppose to vote for the candidate that best represents me. Time and again I'm expected to vote for the lesser of two evils.
I want to be able to express my concerns to Washington DC. I want answers to my ques. that address corruption.
In this day and age there is no reason why I shouldn't be able to go on line at a precise moment and communicate w/ someone that can either answer my ques. or get back to me if they can't.
Currently, if you are lucky enough to discover a proper channel (this can be difficult because often times web sites don't have ph. nos. or addresses) there is little likelihood of getting a response. I have written countless letters to politicians and major political/legislative institutions and they don't answer. The reason they don't answer is because they don't have one that can avoid incriminating themselves.
How long will we so conveniently allow the police to ploice themself? This is the most blatant invitation to corruption a city can have. Why aren't there ohmbudsmen in this country so citizens can report abuse by the authorities?
How is this a democracy when politicians have installed an easy-to-corrupt body of their own called an electoral college that can over ride the popular vote?
How is this a democracy when the best man for the job, one that would (now) be overwhelmingly supported by the public, can not run for the office because there are term limitations Bill Clinton would win by a landslide this next election, but he should have been able to run for a third consecutive term. This country wouldn't be in this bad of shape if not for Bush. If it's not broken, don't try to fix it. It seems to me this country did quite well w/ FDR in office for 15 yrs. This is a particularly glaring pt. of interest in light of the rash of inept party representatives that comprise of the list for us to choose from in recent yrs.
How anyone could still say they are Republican defies the laws of nature. A person will only take so much abuse before they make a change. Their limit should have been exceeded before the last election. Are they able to see NOW, that God has not sent an emissary f/ heaven to insure good decision making f/ our leaders? Probably not.
We HAVE to elect the Democrat in this next election so that Bush won't be pardoned when he is found guilty of his crimes in office.

they only listen to us, but we are too many voices coming at them at once so it all gets confusing. the checks an balances, it will always be there, like our credit cards, itll go up an down, Iraq? if not them, then who? the road map had to start some where, start with who thought they was the toughest, the extremist are getting worse, it aint Bush's fault, granted he aint the smartest we've had in there , but he does recognize the problem an knew it needed dealt with, most people are just scared, an forgot what UNITED meant. corruption, its always been there also, democrats have to do it to get around the republicans , an vice versa. now illegals?, again, too many voices coming from us. each party scared to do somthing for offending someone. its not the government thats off track, its us.

We're incredibly polarized on most of the major issues, and everybody wants to get their own first and worry about the country as a whole later (never). Democrats are busy blaming Republicans, Republicans are busy blaming Democrats. The petty name calling has become absurd (both lib and neocon are bad words). It's not just our government, it's us. We have no loyalty to our fellow Americans. Last time I posted this point of view it was flagged for inappropriate content. I believe that any country as divided as we are, will fall. We're all going to have to find our common ground and quit falling for all the rhetoric or we'll defeat ourselves.

I really don't know, but I do know things after 2008 are going to start looking up, just wait and you'll see. We'll get our back Foreign Policy, Bring our troops home where they belong, Get the budget half way balanced just a lot of changes it'll look just like it did before it was invaded by scorpions and corrupt politics. This country is worst shape than it was with Nixon it is going to slide into a Herbert Hoover Depression if he we don't get that damn fool out just soon as we can., it will get better, he can't get any worst than it is at this time.

go on the democrat ticket in '08. it's the best , and most likely group to fix this abomination in the government. they focus on the things that matter to the world and will do what their constituents thought they would do when they voted for them.

It will be like this until We The People make it stop.

Until we stand up to politicians and kick them all out.

it happened because one party held all three bracnhes, thus making it possible for the executive branch to grow until it doesnt have to comply with anything the newly held congress says.
