We should move election day to April 16, and make everyone write out checks for their taxes. Maybe then, people would see exactly what is going on, and take action.
But that's just wishful thinking, I'm afraid.
I think they're lazy and want someone else to pay the taxes.

Have you heard of the bridge to nowhere that the 109th congress funded? The pork from that Republican Congress was monumental. Did they do one thing, oh wait, that socialist Medicare D program. Would you call that a socialist program? Lazy? I pay my own way and have for many years and I wouldn't have it any other way.
By the way, welfare was reformed in 1996 big time. That's why you don't hear it discussed by the candidates except where it comes to illegals. Illegals are going to be leaving by the droves because this government has FINALLY decided to enforce the law. The employers have 2 months to verify the SS#'s of their employees. They must fire illegals or be fined $250 to $10,000 and there will be many more raids.

How can you call every single liberal person lazy? That's just a moronic accusation. Furthermore, despite my strong liberal idealism, I can respect the conservative view point, and am glad it exists. Not to sound like a cliche, but I think part of what makes this country so great is how differently people can be. Intelligent political discussion and debate is great; critical "you're wrong and I'm not listening" discussion is not.

sorry, but common sense and reasonable intelligence is genetic. I am because of my makeup obliged to study issues to the best of my ability before making judgement and would never assume to be 100% in any action of word...I can only use the gifts given to me to develop a reasoned response or opinion...While I cannot say you are completely wrong...by the depth of your question, I can be reasonably certain that you however do not have a need to delve into the detail or meat of a matter before you develop an opinion

No, I don't think there is my friend. The Democratic party is the poor man's party. They either dont make enough money or are too lazy to, so they make the ones that do make something to pay for their healthcare or other crap.

Yo do realize that 30 years from now im going to have to pay for the friggin mess the boomers have made, and that i wont be able to get a social security check because its will probly have collapsed? Please, i already know your going to pass on your mess to us, but at least be honest about it.

we need to come up with a new word for the Republican style of governing. Record earmarks combined with nation building, failure, incompetence, record deficits, lost rights... and tax cuts to fuel the fire. Communism is too good a word for what Repubs stand for.
