elvis only performed outside of the united states once; and that was in canada...co. tom parker never got his american citizenship and was afraid to leave american soil with 'his boy' for fear of not bein' allowed back in the states...

don't know if elvie ever vacationed in the uk...but he was well aware of the groups of the 'british invasion'...one of the great unconfirmed legends of rock and roll concerns the beatles meetin' elvis at graceland in 1965...

Elvis never did tour in the UK and it's not because of Col. Parker. The proper venues weren't available outside the US to perform concerts. They were obviously available for night club acts, as Martin and Lewis performed in the UK, but not concerts. I believe he did visit the UK during the years he was in the army, but not sure if he stayed in a hotel or just made a day of it. He was familiar with UK stars. He loved the Beatles and he liked the Rolling Stones. There was actually a very famous night between the Beatles and Elvis. They visited Elvis at Graceland, shot the breeze, played pool.

Interestingly enough (little side note), you say how you forgot the "L" in Elvis. With his dad's accent, Vernon would always pronounce Elvis' name that way "Evis".

He never performed or had a vacation in the UK. Whilst in the army he spent a couple of hours at prestwick airport (Scotland) whilst his plane refueled.

Yes the Beatles, Cliff Richard, the Animals, Billy Fury, Tom Jones and in the 70's Rod Stewart and the Faces, Elton John, David Bowie Elvis was familiar with music from the UK and would try and meet alot of them when they performed in the U.S. I think Rod and the Faces were the only ones mentioned here where he was unable to meet due to prior engagements but all the rest he met.

No, he never got to perform a concert out of the North America, and that excludes Alaska and Hawaii. The only time he performed out of the United States, and that was in Canada before Tom Parker became his manger.

Due to TP I couldn't tour the UK regretably sir
I really wanted to
TP was worried that he might not be allowed back into the US again. He was a great trouble in my life. I was restricted.

I was aware of other big UK stars, I actually met a few (the Beatles included)

I forgive you for spellin my name wrong sir
